Kantate, BWV 38 "Aus tiefer Not schrei ich zu dir"
Aus tiefer Not schrei ich zu dir (Out of deep anguish I call to You), BWV 38, is a church cantata by Johann Sebastian Bach, composed in Leipzig in 1724 for the 21st Sunday after Trinity and first performed on 29 October 1724. It is based on Martin Luther's penitential hymn "Aus tiefer Not schrei ich zu dir", a paraphrase of Psalm 130.
